282 Foothills Farm

We passed this farm near Marion, NC and had to turn back and stop. Hay had just been cut and was being raked into windrows. We both thought, "I hope it doesn't rain before the get it up." 

I can't resist a red barn with sun shining on a tin roof, so here it is.

198 Mountain Barn

Painted outdoors, "on location," looking up "The Hill" to the barns at the Blowing Rock Horse Show on a beautiful summer day in the Blue Ridge Mountains. "The Hill" seems to get steeper every year. I seem to remember going up and down with ease when I first started painting here. Upon a little more reflection, I used a golf cart shuttle quite a bit that first year.

This is an old stone barn located in Bryn Athyn, PA. Bryn Athyn has its own history, it is home to a European Catherdral, a Scottish Castle and a French Castle. This barn is on the road to the old mill.
