Sedgefield Horse Show, An original one of a kind 8 x 10 oil painting on linen panel looking at the show grounds from the end of the ring. It was actually painted at that location, before the clouds massed up and became a summer thunderstorm. I worked to create a rich depth of color, with strong brush strokes to achieve the overall feel of the painting! A moment in time.
I try to create beautiful, jewel like, but never garish, tones and
colors in his impressionistic oil paintings. Always exploring both
locations and techniques and materials, including making an oil
painting medium (a 3 month long process!) that is non-toxic and
incorporate it into my paintings. Many paintings are painted from life
and outdoors (plein air) and just as many are special requests from
collectors for paintings of their homes, barns, animals, child or a
special quiet corner of a garden.
